Shaun Of The Dead(2004 / R)
On the surface, the plot of this movie is quite pedestrian. The story revolves around the stereotypical plot of the main character (Shaun) losing his gal, and then trying for the rest of the movie to win her back. He's got a goofy sidekick/bubby roommate whom neither the gal nor her friends approve of, and who doesn't get along well w/ anybody but Shaun... and the gal's friends don't approve of Shaun either... and one of those friends secretly has a crush on the gal! It's all been done plenty of times before... So what could make this movie deserving of a 5-Bruce Campbell head rating? ZOMBIES! This brilliant movie is essentially a chick flick caught in a zombie movie!
I absolutely loved this movie! It's freakin' hilarious to see this type of plot in a setting where the dead have risen up to walk the earth and eat human flesh! Since I don't really feel like looking up the characters names to give you a more detailed description of this movie... I'm gonna just keep it short....
YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE! It's funny, creepy, sentimental, and gory! There's something for everybody... finally a zombie movie you can watch w/ special someone!
