The Doorway(2000 / R)
B-horror schlock w/ lots of gratuitious nudity. Roy Scheider "stars" AND dies in a very brief appearance. Fairly good effects given the low budget... really good effects in fact. The acting is terrible though!
4 students agree to refurbish an old rundown house in exchange for room and board, and $$$ which will help them get through their college semester. Turns out the house was built upon the spot where witches were burned back a couple centuries earlier (whooo spoooky!). So as the students go about studying and cleaning the house a sex starved demon is set loose, sometimes terrorizing them, sometimes possessing them, but always looking to "do" them in! (oh my god am I hilarious!)
The movie would be intolerable w/out the sleaze, but w/ the sleaze intact this is an okay middle-of-the-rado b-movie that I'd not be ashamed to watch again w/ my horror movie night brethren!
